I also operate an APRS digipeater / iGate with pretty broad coverage. What would be the practical and legal ramifications of augmenting the BBS to also work over APRS, thus bridging Meshtastic and APRS?
I guess it could in theory allow Meshtastic messages from non-hams to be sent over APRS, so that’d be considered carrying third party traffic from my automated station?

I believe to stay on the up and up with the FCC, it would have to only allow messages from licensed hams. Some sort of way to mark particular nodes as belonging to licensed hams will need to be put in place to only allow their traffic to go over APRS.
