NPCs are semi-retarded in multiplayer due to shitty coding.

It seems that Wampa and Rancor are the only properly working NPCs, because they used them in siege. The devs only fixed those NPCs, and said "fuck it" for the rest.

Here are some examples of shitty NPC behavior in multiplayer:

  • You can abuse jedis/siths with force powers (grip, push, etc) and they can't block it
  • You can rape jedis/siths with weapons (rockets, dets, etc) and they don't push them
  • They look at nearby temp-spectator dead siege players
  • Gran NPCs stand in place punching nothing
  • Snipers can only use primary disruptor; using scope just makes their hands shake
  • ATST (non-vehicle) doesn't move or attack or do anything
  • Icarus scripts that force some animations don't seem to work (for example /scripts/t1_fatal/spawncorpse)
  • Mine monsters are invisible
  • There are probably many more examples

If we had properly working NPCs, we could create some amazing co-op mission maps (players versus NPCs), or even L4D2-style maps (players versus NPCs+players)
