This is a very specific behavior that only appears in TiddlyDesktop, and not empty.html in a browser.

To reproduce:

  • Open any tiddlywiki (e.g. empty.html)
  • Create a new tiddler or edit an existing
  • Click on, or tab to, the main text field
  • Save the tiddler with Ctrl+Enter hotkey
  • Notice that you cannot focus the search field with the Ctrl+Shift+F hotkey

Notes:

  • This doesn't happen if you save the tiddler by clicking the save button. It only happens when saving the tiddler with Ctrl+Enter

Expected behavior:

  • Ctrl+Shift+F hotkey should work regardless of how you save the tiddler. Having it always work makes search very accessible, which is important for the user experience

Actual behavior:

  • Ctrl+Shift+F hotkey doesn't work in some cases, for no good design reason

Platform:

  • Linux Mint 20.3
  • empty.html version 5.2.2
  • TiddlyDesktop version 0.0.14
