As of v2.1.16
(and pull request #192) node-sqlite3 now defaults to installing a pre-built binary of node_sqlite3.node (with a statically link libsqlite3) when available.
Binaries are versioned based on the node version, platform, and architecture. Given this amounts to a lot of variants we have not yet created binaries for all possible combinations.
Available Binaries are listed here.
The node versioning is not based on node's semver string but rather the usually less frequently changing C++ ABI number. This is available in javascript process.versions.modules
as of >= v0.10.4 >= v0.11.7
