In some where the loupe is quite beneficial, its location obfuscates user interpretation of the broader context.
Would it be easy to have a toggle to move the placement of the magnification loupe? perhaps ctrl-l could toggle positions from current (southeast of cursor) to an alternative (northwest of cursor), and then off. I suppose SE, SW, NW, NE would also be options, but maybe too many. Need to experiment.
