- Allows users to enter multiple email addresses for survey data notifications.
- Fixes a bug that caused the application to hang if a user pressed the 'Back' button on a page.
- Fixes a bug that caused the application to repeatedly write data to the database if the Redis container was not running.
- Improves logging for both the Flask and Redis containers.
- Surveys can now be duplicated by selecting one or multiple and clicking on 'Duplicate' in the 'With selected' dropdown.
- Increases the maximum character limit on Survey names.
- Increases the maximum character limit on Page names.
- Fixes a bug whereby Pages with very long names cannot be duplicated.
- An email field has been added to the Survey form. Whenever a batch of survey data is uploaded, an email is sent to the provided email address to notify the associated user.
- For every participant in the uploaded survey data, a CSV file is compiled and added to this email as an attachment. This file contains the participant's score for each page and an aggregated score.
- The application is Dockerized and Celery/Redis are added to handle the sending of emails.
- Pages can now be duplicated by selecting one or multiple pages and clicking 'Duplicate' in the 'With selected' dropdown.
- Updated the index page to redirect to the project website.
- The application has been restructured so that multiple subjects can be tested offline. All necessary resources are downloaded immediately at page load, after which internet connectivity is no longer required. When a subject has finished the survey, the survey can be repeated with a new subject without a page reload. Data are uploaded to the server when possible and queued in a buffer until that time. A cogwheel icon indicates the current state of the uploading progress.
- The above point has several side effects. The data submission API at the server end now expects a JSON array rather than a single object. If data transfer is successful but the data are found to be invalid at the server end, it is no longer necessary to manually email raw data to the maintainer, because the invalid data are still logged at the server.
- Test subjects can now go back to the previous page if they accidentally pressed the "ready" button. This allows the subject to resume coloring where they left off. Time recording continues as if coloring took place in a continuous period, as if the paging back and forth was instantaneous. The time of interruption and resumption is recorded, although these data are currently not visible to the researcher.
- Fixes the problem that caused coloring pages to be unavailable the first few days after creation (#13).
- From now on, the survey URL is included in the raw data when the subject or supervisor is requested to send the data manually (#7).
- Further coding style improvements.
- All text that is shown to the subjects is now customizable.
- Several small enhancements to the admin pages.
- Various coding style improvements, including whitespace and HTML5.
- Consistently renamed "Coloringbook" to "Coloring Book" and "coloringbook page" to "coloring page" in human-oriented text, since this is better English.
- Updates to the documentation.
Hotfix release to enable the sound repeat button on pages that have the sound playing before the image is displayed.
Hotfix release to enable logging for failed submission.
Hotfix release to make area expectations editable again.
Enhancement release.
- Favicon is now visible on all admin pages.
- The
on_form_prefill
hook was accepted into Flask-Admin, so it was removed from our own codebase. - The delay between sentence display/playback and image visibility is now customizable per survey.
- User-contributed content is now kept separate from the application source directory.
Hotfix release to add Flask-Script and Flask-Migrate to the requirements.
Bugfix and maintenance release.
- The per-subject summary export problem was resolved.
- Migrations were enabled on the database, making future maintenance easier.
- File name lengths were expanded and enforced on the upload forms.
- Area name lengths were expanded and enforced on the editing form.
Hotfix release to repair the links on the admin homepage.
Update and enhancement release.
- pip requirements are pinned using
pip-compile
. - All external dependencies were updated.
- Application can now be served from a non-root location (e.g. under yourdomain.edu/coloringbook/)
- Sounds can be replayed with a button.
- Sounds should play more reliably on iPad.
A few small but important improvements:
- Addition of a privacy statement.
- Addition of a favicon and an application icon for the iPad.
- Use of the mousedown event instead of the click event, for faster response on touch devices.
- Font size adjustments.
Small bugfix and enhancement release. Changes:
- Spaces in area names are automatically changed into underscores, in order to prevent the issue where expectations are not pre-rendered in the expectation editing form.
- Non-simultaneous sentences are displayed for six seconds instead of three.
- Simultaneous sentences are removed before the final evaluation form is shown.
The finished application, ready for deployment.
Additions and improvements in this version: more documentation, including a visual representation of the database layout and a short manual in the admin interface, license terms, a subjects tab in the admin interface with export option, filtering subjects by ID, and removal of the coloringbook harness from the domain root.
This hotfix release fixes some issues that caused the application to work in Flask-SQLAlchemy version 0.16, but not in version 1.0.
This beta release is complete enough to be usable in principle. Apart from some dots and crosses, the only functionality that is still really missing is an admin model view of subjects with export options.
Additions and improvements in this version: restriction of editing capabilities in the Color and Language admin model views, strongly improved and extended CSV export, possibility to display a sentence simultaneously with the drawing, better modularity of admin templates, explicit usage of the InnoDB engine for all database tables, addition of the evaluation form, better scaling of the drawing to fit the viewport, authentic instructions and form texts, and dynamic fetching of surveys by URL.
This alpha release adds improved documentation with doctest, a minimalist testing infrastructure, improved configuration handling, more customized model views, adherence to PEP 257, the possibility to edit drawings, pages and page expectations from the admin interface, uploading of sound recordings, a File abstraction that both Drawing and Sound ORMs derive from, and better colors.
This alpha release contains the necessary infrastructure to enable deployment on an Apache server. It also implements most of the application functionality. Still lacking are the possibility to define pages for custom drawings, as well as the possibility to serve customized surveys to test subjects.
