Song overview in Jukebox mode very laggy #956
Comments
I am unable to reproduce this. As far as I'm aware, the jukebox doesn't do anything different than other things that draw stuff on the screen. Since you're on Windows, can you try a few different versions of the portable releases (extract zip, copy your config.ini into it, go to the jukebox)? Like, if it works on a mid-2023 release, try to narrow down what was the last working and first broken version. It's also possible this has always been broken (at least for you), but that's also useful information. |
I've just tried this back to the 2020 version which was the first portable available. It looks like that this was always broken. Actually, not "broken" in meaning that it doesn't work at all, but "broken" in the meaning of slow, sluggish, like on a way outdated machine that even the mouse cursor is jumping. While that, the audio works fine. Funny is that this effect immediately disappears if I press ESC and the song list is closed. |
I just tried to reproduce this on a 15 years old laptop with the current version and with the 2020 version, and the issue doesn't appear there. Can you please provide a log from the folder where the ultrastar.exe file is located? Thanks. |
Version: UltraStar Deluxe v.2025.1.0
Environment: Windows 10 pro, 96GB RAM, Ryzen 7 CPU, nVIDIA RTX4060
Songs at external directory on SSD at drive D: (more than enough free space, song directory contains 5 (five) songs)
Steps to reproduce:
actual behavior
The Overview shows me all songs and lets me select a song, but the GUI is that sluggish and slow that not even the mouse cursor is lagging.
This behavior ends if the overview is closed.
expectation:
A performant, non-lagging using of the GUI is possible.
This behavior is reproducible.
