We should check to see if users are loading HDF5 v1.10 or above and, if so, try to programitically set HDF5 to write a backwards compatiable file (i.e. can be ready by HDF5 1.8.x), WRT netCDF4 output.

See Unidata/netcdf-c#250 for more info. Maybe we can do this thorugh JNI?
