When using Gradient2 in a scene (see screenshot below), FPS drop down from 60 to 50 on our Android test device (Mi A2 Lite). Without the gradient, frames are normal again.

Is this expected on mobile, or is there something we can do to improve the performance impact?

There certainly shouldn’t be that level of performance drop when using the control as it is a simple shader. Will investigate.
