Support multiple extension stores?

I fully understand that the scope of this project is to not extend VSCode, but rather to change it so it's free as in freedom. Unfortunately, Microsoft's license is restrictive when it comes to the extension store, that we have to get extensions from a different store.

In the docs we have clear instructions how we can bypass this limitation and it's wonderful, but that got me thinking.

To switch the extension store, I have to restart VSCodium and this bothers me. I would fully understand that the following proposal might be rejected, because it is too much for the scope of this project, but how about a companion extension that allows to configure multiple stores, so it's possible to enter Microsoft's store without breaking any license, since the user has to configure the endpoints on their own.
