Hello, everyone!

Here you will find an overview of activity in the OpenShift enhancements repository in the last week. You can find previous editions on github.

Merged Enhancements

There were 6 Merged pull requests:

  • 421: (0/3) etcd: updates ETCD Encryption For Separate OAuth APIs enhancement to reflect the current state of the world (p0lyn0mial)

    The encryption-config used by OpenShift API server to encrypt/decrypt resources will also be used by the new oauth-apiserver for one release (4.6) and will be split in the next (4.7), in order to allow seamless upgrade and downgrade of encrypted servers. Initially OAS-O will be responsible to manage both servers. In the future releases CAO will take over the config and will manage its operand.

  • 507: (10/126) authentication: new/auth: allow users to manage their tokens (stlaz)

    This enhancement describes how to allow OpenShift users to be able to list their access tokens so that they can easily delete an access token specific to an application, all of their tokens, a token from the past they no longer need etc.

  • 529: (9/9) general: conventions: Document our existing 4.x conventions (smarterclayton)

    Clarify resource usage and operator conventions that we have been using over the last year.

  • 530: (18/18) windows-containers: WMCO Upgrade enhancement design update (VaishnaviHire)

    This enhancement allows a cluster administrator to upgrade a deployed Windows Machine Config Operator (WMCO), and associated Windows node components, to a newer version.

There were 5 New pull requests:

  • 531: (12/12) update: Distribute channel description strings (wking)

    We have [official documentation for channels and their intended semantics][channel-docs], but not all customers read the docs.

    This enhancement proposes an API which update services may use to declare channels and associated metadata, and a path for propogating that data into clusters, where tooling like [oc adm upgrade [channel]][oc-adm-upgrade-channel] and [the web console][web-console-channel] can expose them to users as they are considering channel choices or the resulting update recommendations.

    This is similar to available-update metadata, but for different data.

  • 532: (54/54) storage: vSphere monitoring operator (jsafrane)

    Below we propose to check if OpenShift clusters installed into vSphere environment is / can be fully functional by introducing a new operator and periodical checks.
