Resolutions will fit to screen size, a problem on ultrawide #14051
Comments
Did you set the resolution via launch options? |
This is my launch options: -w 2560 -h 1440 -console -high -novid -map dota I added the resolution to the launch options after trying the old fashioned way, didn't do any good on that front. |
Did you try the console command |
I am experiencing the same thing now with a 5120 x 1440p resolution. |
Same for me at 5120 x 1440p resolution in Samsung Odyssey. In Exclusive Windowed mode, the HUD overlaps the Map |
Description
Problem 1
I have an ultrawide monitor (3440x1440) and have problems with playing at that resolution and want to play at 2560x1440. However this does not work... instead of getting black bars on the side the game is set to fit the screen, its 2560x1440 but really stretches and its looks like ***. The only work around is to set my screen resolution to 2560x1440 but this is getting really old really fast. However even with this, the game will sometimes just run the 2560x1440 res but stretched. If you alt-tab to desktop and go back to the game, the resolution will stretch to fit the screen again even with the desktop res set to 1440p or even 1080p for that matter.
The other option is borderless windowed, but then my mouse escapes the game screen I click random stuff on the desktop, if I alt-tab the game screen will stick to the left side of the screen until you close the game.
Weirdly the screenshots will show it in correct aspect which don't make much sense...
Problem 2
If I play on a resolution that is not the same as the desktop resolution have a second monitor like the one on my laptop, if I alt-tab the game will stretch partly to that monitor, this does not happen all the time. There is no other fix than terminating the task, the game hijacks the entire screen and you cant access anything on the desktop.
Launch options: -w 2560 -h 1440 -console -high -novid -map dota
Graphic drivers and windows 10 are up to date.
Example Match ID (and possibly Timestamp)
