Description

Game is crashing consistently citing a corrupted file. I have been kicked out of 3 games in the last 2 days due to a corrupted file. When trying to validate the files, the game hangs in steam on 0% for at least 20 minutes before even starting the validation process. I have been attempting to fix the issue and reference players who have had similar issues in the past. I would like to note that I have been exclusively been playing unranked as to not hinder other players in games that matter while I troubleshoot the issue.

Note: I am not having this problem is ANY other game. I loaded up several games today, ran stress tests and benchmarks, uninstalled and reinstalled DOTA 3 times, validated game files at least 5 times, and the issue persists and I am now met with a 3 hour ban in all game modes. DOTA is the ONLY game that is causing this crashing issue. I can play CS2 with maxed out settings for hours, EFT for hours with supreme performance, and AAA games with zero issues; however, DOTA has now crashed on me 2 games in a row without having the ability to verify game files or solve the issue with enough time to avoid an abandon, which has now resulted in an unacceptably long ban during my only time of the week to play the game.

I'm at a loss on how to fix the issue and I am worried that this is going to quickly turn into a longer and longer ban from playing unranked. In all sincerity, this is my favorite game and I don't know how to correct this and how to stop this from happening. I'm contemplating doing a clean install of Windows, but that just sounds like overkill and I would like to think that there are options for this type of problem and that these type of things are not unprecedented.

My latest course of action was to run some diagnostic tools, which then led me to restoring my BIOS settings to default as I have done some tweaking after upgrading some PC parts. I upgraded my motherboard, CPU, and RAM. Yes, my RAM in on the QVL list; yes, I have wiped my drive and reinstalled windows; yes, I have updated my BIOS to the most recent version; yes, I have installed all appropriate drivers for my new hardware. The memory diagnostic tool reported that I have a hardware problem. This RAM is brand new. This is what prompted me to reset BIOS settings and subsequently disabling EXPO Profile 1. Although I don't know how these issues would cause the crash issue that I'm having in DOTA. I am admittedly not extremely well versed in this level of troubleshooting and I am following every bit of advice I can conjure. I was really hoping to test the game out after resetting the BIOS, but I am most frustrated about the 3 hour ban. I didn't even know you could get bans this long in unranked modes. And I would be happy with testing and troubleshooting in turbo or another game mode, but I do not have access to anything in the game right now.

Bad news to me... Before this I could run Dota, but now I can’t.
My Steam crashes along with it.
Apparently I won’t find a solution and will stop playing Dota.
