Your system information

  • Steam client version: 1732746274
  • SteamOS version: 3.6.20
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: No
  • Opted into SteamOS beta?: Yes
  • Have you checked for updates in Settings > System?: Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Steam OS would not authenticate to wireless network that has a comma in the password.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Create a wifi network with a comma in the password. (Use your phone for an easy test)
  2. Try to authenticate. Fails
  3. Change the password to something without a comma.
  4. Try to authenticate. Success.

Tested with 3.6.20, it works fine here. I actually used a phone as a hotspot as you suggest.

Can you reproduce it reliably with any kind of password that has a comma?
