Just leaving a suggestion.
But I use obsidian on two computers and often run into merge conflicts.
Just a friendly suggestion but to be able to create branches directly from obsidian instead of terminal.

Also to have a save function to auto backup.

Forgive me if these features are there, and I haven't been able to see it.

I'm unsure how separate branches help you to avoid merge conflicts. I don't suggest you to set the backup/commit/push command to CTRL + S, but you should be able to do it via default Obsidian hotkeys settings. Then this issue is only about managing branches from the plugin. This is tracked in #132.
