How does this node work?

I have the RM Mini 3 working with this code base. Have added a readme.md and other English translations with the pull request.

It was a bit complicated and a number of steps to go through, but I can now send commands to my air conditioner and other devices.

On running the NPM I failed to get the nodes displayed and also got warnings from the putty terminal. Do I need to edit a file with my unit's MAC address and wifi details or similar? As I am fairly inexperienced I am sure the problem is of my own making. Any assistance someone may be willing to provide will be most gratefully received.
