Many icons show up as blank when using wf-shell, Namely:

  • network bar icon
  • Apostrophe
  • Nemo
  • Spotify
  • imv
  • footclient
  • Joplin
  • Armcord

Also, the icon-mapping option from wf-shell has no effect.

Maybe it has something to do with the theme?

Well - changing icon theme do some change - the common icon of unknown file type changes when I change theme. But I test it on mate-panel and there is also bug about this. And strange thing - sometimes it starts working well. Sometimes stops. I am on gentoo so the rolling versions of everything and I could not figure out which update made the difference. The strange thing that it also happened with wf-panel - I was thinking this is a mate bug. But looks like the root of it is somewhere in gtk.

I've tried with several icon packs and most of these are missing. The best I could do was have the full cinnamon desktop installed at the same time but it's overkill just to have working icons.
Also, has any of you used the icon-mapping feature?
I have not been able to make it work with anything.
