To reproduce

  1. Install and activate Twenty Seventeen theme (even though many more are affected)
  2. Create a post.
  3. Notice the Start writing or... placeholder has a serif font.
  4. Focus and unfocus it.
  5. Notice the placeholder now has a sans-serif font.

Expected behavior
Font shouldn't change after focusing/unfocusing. This issue is not affecting some themes that are overriding .block-editor- styles, but that's officially discouraged.
