Highlighting an entity when a user hovers its name in a list (like the List view) is very useful to identify it quickly. I think we could also implement the highlight in the other direction: if the user hovers an element in the canvas, the related label could be highlighted.

Here's a prototype that shows this in action for both the List view and the Save sidebar:
