There’s a drop off from “I want a website, and I think it should be with WordPress” and “okay, now what?” In other words, how can I actually get started?

Let's put a clear entrypoint to WordPress ecosystem on WordPress.org. Maybe “here’s a way to get started with WP”?

Specific Ideas

• Create a live WordPress demo with:
  • Predefined content to make the demo site seem real, like something I could actually use
  • Instructions how to customize content, images, change a theme
  • A button to easily export the site to a webhost once you're finished exploring and customizing
