Let's understand how fast is playground.wordpress.net on a dated hardware, like a 2010 Laptop, compared to the latest Mac pro.

Let's measure:

  • Web vitals
  • Time to first WordPress paint
  • The speed of opening the block editor in Playground

And then let's measure the same for a vanilla WordPress without Playground.

Let's use this issue as a central point for collecting these measurements over time.

With PHP Blueprints library well on the way - how important is this?

What do you mean? PHP Blueprints are just an implementation detail. It still takes time to start and run Playground, and that time could either be short and barely noticeable or long and discouraging.
