I have been playing SA2 using this mod manager on my Steam Deck, and I haven't had any major issues. I recently tried to update my PC install with the mods I was using on Steam Deck. I added the mods and tried to launch the game. The game boots, and the Sega and Sonic team logo play as normal, but when Omochao shows up and the game starts to load, the game crashes and closes.

On my Steam Seck the game boots fine and mods load as expected, but on my PC this crash happens. I am using the latest version of the mod manager, and uninstalled and reinstalled the mod loader. The game was running fine with mods on my PC yesterday, and when I reinstall the game without mods it also runs fine. It's only when I use the mod loader that this crash happens. My PC had an update today so that might be the issue, but I am not 100% sure as I'm not super familiar with troubleshooting this sort of thing.

I don't think this is an issue with my mods as like I mentioned above, I am running the same set of mods on my steam deck with no issue. Also, I should state that the mod manager itself isn't crashing or having any issues. It's working fine but the game won't run when using it.

I am sorry for the lack of details. I don't know what the source of the issue is and I don't know what or how to check what is going on when the game is running to be able to say what is causing the crash. I will do my best to supply extra information if needed.

EDIT: upon further inspection, it seems the issue might be with the mod loader. uninstalling it makes the game run like normal but having it installed causes the game to crash. it would also explain why it looked like mods weren't being loaded (one of the mods I run has some text appear when the game boots up, and it wasn't happening).

Mod Loader issue and not Manager, closing this.
