A very basic qt4 client was added in r3193.

It still needs:

• keyboard mapping support
• transparency support
• OpenGL
• appindicator support (meh) StatusNotifierItem (aka App Indicators) for Qt applications
• a nicer solution to the current hack which allows gobject style signals to work with qt: New-style Signal and Slot Support, Events and Signals in PyQt4, Threading with PyQt4
• packaging: Py2exe And PyQt - Shipping your PyQt app for windows
• more general pyqt there

This can help us solve:

• problems with being stuck at gtk2 (though we also have a work in progress gtk3 client python3 and gtk3 support #90)
• problems with gstreamer 0.10 (linked to gtk2)
• problems with python2 (again, linked with gtk2)
• platform problems: better osx support?
• features problems: focus/modal window problems [ensight with win32 client has drop down focus problems #356#comment:6]
