The activity newsfeed is what's displayed on the "front page". The activity newsfeed is similar to Facebooks newsfeed. All posts and other activities are displayed here. Other activities what's currently in the "Current Member Activities".
There are two settings:
Top Stories
The most "interesting" activities, based upon who the user follows/likes (users, pages, categories)
All stories
All activities ordered by activity date/time and based upon who the user follows/likes (users, pages, categories)
If a user is not logged in, then they will just see public posts. Data that any search engine would be able to see.
I think that the whole "supporting the privacy"-factor will become much more important in the future. People are starting to get much more careful when it comes to protecting themselves, when they are online. So they need to be able to trust our software.
