Timeline view doesn't move to the next day when the day changes

I leave the Timeline sidebar open all day. When I come to my computer the next day, the internal date has changed, but the timeline is still showing the previous day. If I click the "Today" button, the Timeline does not refresh to the current date because it seems to think it is already showing the current date.

The only way I can get it to go to the next day is to click back --> forward, or forward --> back.
