We actively read the user's SMS. At the time of writing, no data(including telemetry, beyond basic "No of installs") is collected.

However, due to the Open Source nature of the app, somebody could easily impersonate us and abuse it to read SMSes

Yes, the user can opt out, but a pretty crucial selling point of the app is now no longer available(Speaker Mode and Bill history)

While this issue serves as a reminder for me to check back in and brainstorm for solutions, this is also an invitation for the community to suggest solutions.
