Support Authentication for HTTP_GET and SSL_GET

Is your feature request to resolve a problem or provide enhanced functionality? Please describe.
I have services to monitor that require a username/password combination https://user:password@host.fake to return a valid status code. I can monitor for 401 status instead of 200 but this seems like a hack.

I would like the ability to add username and password to HTTP_GET and SSL_GET

Describe alternatives you have considered
Check for 401 instead of 200 OK to at least determine that the service is running.

Would the feature request be of benefit only to you, or is it more generally applicable?
I am sure others have run across this issue.
