I think it would be valuable to display the commit or build version (once we have proper builds) in the backend information tab. While this could be seen as a minor disclosure risk from a security perspective, it would significantly help in identifying issues related to outdated versions.

We’ve noticed that some bug reports are caused by users running older versions of QLever, where the issue has already been fixed. Having the version information readily available would make it easier for users to report accurate details and for us to diagnose problems more efficiently.

I like the way Apache HTTP Server handles this, where administrators can control how much version information is exposed by default.

Additionally, it might be worth updating our GitHub issue templates to include a field asking for the QLever version explicitly.
