Freezes at start commercial break during live streaming

While livestreaming a channel, the image freezes when the commercial breaks starts. This happens on all channels and all at the same moment. When I stop the stream and restart it again, it works fine again.

I think it is related to the refresh rate. In the past, when the commercial breaks started, there was a change in refresh rate from 60hz to 50hz (or other way around). Now I do not see this change anymore at the start of the commercial break, but the image freezes. When the commercial breaks ends, the change in refresh rate, is working fine.

Is it possible to verify this at your side?

I have the same problem for playback on Android TV.

But I found out that this problem occurs only the first time when you arrive at the commercial break,
so to bypass this problem I follow this procedure :

• as soon as the video starts, skip to the next chapter (channel-up button on remote of TV)
• as soon as the chapter starts, keep skipping to the next chapter until the last chapter is reached
• restart playing from begin (channel-down button on remote of TV to return chapter by chapter)

after this, the whole video plays without freezing (a millisecond freeze can occur at each commercial break)

Trying out older versions of Widevine CDM may improve the behavior. I do not seem to be impacted, and I am using Widevine CDM 4.10.2449.0 and InputStream Adaptive 19.0.7.1 on Kodi 19.4 (arm64).

When streaming live a channel, the image will freeze at the start of the commercial break. If you just wait a minute or 2, it starts playing again automatically.
Other option is to reload the channel or swap between channels
