To enable catalog searches by species or genus, write taxonomy hierarchy end points (usually species or genus) as a keyword. This avoids redundant entry by users and makes use of taxonomy to support data discovery in catalogs. The affected writers would establish a thesaurus and add a keyword for each taxonomic tree end point, including identifier, if it exists. Taxonomic Authority would be used to identify the "publisher" and name for the thesaurus, such as, "ITIS Taxonomy". Implement in any writer supporting keywords.
