There seems to be a gap in what a 'Supported node version' is
The tests validate against the package.json engines node version, but this is actual just specifying where this library can run ... not what runtime/openwhisk 'kind' it can deploy to ...

presently supported kinds are 10,12,14 as defined here: https://developer.adobe.com/runtime/docs/guides/reference/runtimes/
