Imo the rotation of the pieces is highly confusing.
As the website https://chessin5d.net/ provides the ability to rotate the field accordingly and this designer should not be responsible for the visual appeal of the figures, figures should not be placed upside down.

Furthermore if that feature is intentionally, each piece should have a representation of normal and reverse.
Rn I'd have no possibility to place a knight upside down. (which I do not want, but is solidifies my point 😄)

The upside-down pieces are temporary assets for the brawns, common king and royal queen. Changing them requires making new assets (there sadly aren't any fitting, BSD-3-compatible ones out there that I could find). We've already had a proposal for brawns (which is in my opinion eerie).
