There's a new GIRepository, which is now inside GLib. The docs are at https://gnome.pages.gitlab.gnome.org/gtk/girepository/ and there's a migration guide here: https://gnome.pages.gitlab.gnome.org/gtk/girepository/migrating-gi.html
