alluredir causing conflict as an ArgumentError in conftest.py

Whenever I try to add --alluredir as part of the conftest.py. I am getting an ArgumentError

Sample code:

def pytest_addoption(parser):
    if config.settings.allure:
        parser.addoption("--alluredir", default="allure-results", action="store")

Error message:
