What

The Figma Design System library has become an essential tool for prototyping government services. It is sometimes used by users who don’t have knowledge of the DS or Frontend. Users are unsure whether Figma is up to date.

So what?

Users may prototype from Figma without knowledge of the guidance in GOV.UK design System, which can mean they spend time re-working projects. There is a reputational risk to the DS if the Figma library continues unmanaged.

What now?

Explore ways the Figma Design System library can be formally managed by GDS.
