When I share a post from GOV.UK Blogs platform, it always shows the crown image by default even if a post has an image attached.
The open graph image is hardcoded into the template.
Could this be made more flexible so that the open graph tag pull through post's featured image?

I can't see any reason to not update this line in the template to allow a custom open graph image to be provided.

Following the launch of the GOV.UK Design System, GOV.UK Template will now only get major bug fixes and security patches, so I'm going to close this.
This issue, and a workaround, has been captured in GOV.UK Frontend here.
