Workaround is seemingly: use qemu, or mount some volume to /cache.
... current use of vz triggering some bug?

Quick test on: macOS 14.1, colima 0.5.6, lima 0.18.0

vz/virtiofs: FAIL
vz/sshfs: FAIL
qemu/sshfs: OK
