As we turn the page to a new chapter in the journey of One App, we wanted to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to all of you who have been part of this incredible voyage. From its inception in 2016, through its open-source journey starting in 2019, to this moment of transition, your support, contributions, and enthusiasm have been the lifeblood of this project.
The title of this issue, a lighthearted reference from Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," reflects both a farewell and a thank you. It encapsulates our gratitude for the community that has grown around One App, for every line of code contributed, every issue reported, and every piece of feedback shared.
While this GitHub repository and its related public repositories will be archived in April 2024, marking the end of One App's open-source chapter, the spirit of collaboration and innovation will continue. One App is transitioning to an innersourced model within American Express, where it will continue to evolve and play a crucial role in our technological strategy.
This is not the end, but a transformation, as One App adapts to better align with American Express's future goals and needs. We are excited about the possibilities this new phase holds and remain committed to the principles of innovation, quality, and excellence that have always defined this project.
Thank you once again for all the fish—every contribution, big or small, that has helped shape One App. Here's to the future and the continued success of One App in its new home.
With gratitude,
The One App Team at American Express
