When decks with media are converted, they're hard to share because all the paths are absolute and media is in a remote folder. An option to bundle media with xml for sharing would be useful though you'd have to figure out how to make the paths within the xml relative. I've had issues before where I shared an xml from my collection and when other people imported images wouldn't show up because the paths were absolute and meant to fit my collection.

Would you prefer the script have an import/export procedure?

I guess a seperate script might be useful since seeing it as an option each time would be inconvenient since likely not many people would need it

I think I might be slightly misunderstanding you, what do you mean by import/export procedure? Something so that when I import something someone else shared it'll localize it? It would be nicer if that didn't need to be done but based on issues had by @ckeschnat when I shared a deck with him it looks like it might not be possible to localize images automatically when exporting media (or at least difficult).

At least: when you import it's fine, but the reference paths have to work when importing, which can't be relative apparently.

By procedure -perhaps should have said option- I mean have it such that when you open the script your prompted into either an import, sharing, or convert mode. so it would look something like this

Please describe what you are trying to do ?
      1. import an exported collection?
      2. convert mode
      3. convert for sharing
