I'm trying to go through this step and it happens to refer to some inventories, which don't exist in the repo.

Thanks for pointing that out. We need to update that example sometime soon -- it's currently accurate if the lab was created by the AWS lab provisioner, but that doesn't mean we should do something better.

This issue is loosely related to #283.
