Would I be right in thinking this is just a handful of lines-of-code ?

An isAbstract=YES property just says "this is really a template in its own right and should not be instantiated".

Is that what you meant?

Yup, should be easy to implement after we have definition inheritance! Just check isAbstract when trying to instantiate a definition and raise an exception if it is.
