Hi! Sonoff has recently released a new device with amazing capabilities: - SONOFF Smart Stackable Power Meter. Is there a chance that it will be possible to upload the Tasmota firmware there and connect it to Domoticz?

I'm working on it but it may take a while because:

• Most work is done by several STM32 processors.
• The ESP32 is used for ethernet/wifi connection
• The SPM uses up to 128 CSE7761 energy monitors and supporting this in Tasmota is at least a challenge.
• Interface and Protocol between the ESP32 and the STM32 processors needs to be determined
• The overall SPM hardware is expensive.

Hello, so i have connect with WebInstaller to flash the SPM-Main and then i have use the Tasmota DE Firmware Version. After this i have connect via phone with the Wifi from Tasmota with 192.168.4.1 and then follow the config to connect to my Wifi-Router. Tasmota confirmend the right password and SSID and connect - says it will connect to 0.0.0.0 - why this? Then my phone is disconnect and then... nothing.
I have looked on my Wifi-Router - no new DHCP-IP and also restart SPM - REcovery mode not work this thing with 7 Power-Cycle.
So i begunn from start and flash again the Tasmota-Firmware then connect with my Phone then give the data for my Wifi-Router network and the same - it tells me fine connected and go to 0.0.0.0 then my phone disconnected and ther isn't any new device on my wifi-Router.. What i'm doing wrong?

Hi, could you describe me please, which pins you have connected to flash the SPM with Tasmota? I tried several times, the four pins to connect with the USB Adapter, but weren't be able to get a connection for a flash occurrence.
I have also tried to connect to GPI0 pin with the GND pin to have a flash mode. But this didn't work also. Maybe I have made some mistakes, not sure about that. Therefore I need a detailed flash solution with some pictures or video, if possible. I have already flash a lot of sonoff and shelly stuff, but this SPM was a little bit tricky, and hope I can do it by myself.

I have solved it - after flash and set Wifi i was able to connect - Problem ws Case-Sensitive of the SSID. I have used normal TTL-UART >> USB Thing on the pins and before power-UP via USB i have bridged the GPI0 to GND.

Today a Proof of Concept is released in the dev branch.

It supports a subset of the Sonoff/eWelink functionality. Before usage I recommend to make a full backup of the 4MB ESP32 flashcode so you can go back using the original Sonoff firmware (hint: python ..\esptool\esptool.py --port COM26 read_flash 0x00000 0x400000 image4M.bin)

I believe going over would require some major rewrite and is probably not in current scope

i use tasmota on ~30 nodes. Very good software, i like it quite much.
Yesterday o got my SONOFF Smart Stackable Power Meter. Following your instructions above i was not able to get things running, flashing ok, but after restart debug console gave my errors.
Which .bin do i have to use out of the dev branch?

My chipset accroding esptool = ESP32-DoWD-V3.

What I did is using AC power to the spm-main unit and connecting only gnd, rx and tx of the usb serial adapter. And grnd IO0.

Usb power is just not enough.

Well it was my mistake... I was thinking that I just needed to short GPIO0 and GND on start only. I soldered GPIO0 and GND and it work. I didn't need to power the SPM Main with AC.

I found issue with the GUI. I have a SPM Main with 4x Relay connected. GUI Rotate each relays, L1 to L16 is rotated well but after that, I have L0 L0 L64 etc.

@arendst Do you know if i'm plugging 8 relays if it will work? Does the limitation of 7 relays can be bypass? Is it a software limitation? What cause this limitation?

As said begore it's a Tasmota software limitation. Currently the power status is held in a 32-bit register; 28 bits are available for relays, the other four bits for optional lights.

Extending this needs a basic rewrite of power control within Tasmota. Many power features won't work as they are dependant on the 32-bit register size.

Oh and plugging in more relays won't show up in Tasmota as the driver is limitted to 28 relays too.

@arendst I'm trying to reset PowerUsage using the REST API. I don't know why but EnergyUsage, EnergyYesterday, EnergyTotal and EnergyToday are not working... I got an Unknow command response.

There is my GET request

Those commands are not implemented because al power monitoring and logging is performed by the additional arm processor. The arm logs for up to 128 relays and ONLY up to six months the energy usage values.

Tasmota has no direct control over this. A possible solution would be to implement storage within tasmota of these values for all relays which take a lot of flashwrites to keep them safe.

There is a reason why they implemented the SD card under control of the ARM processor.as it allows much more write operations then esp32 flash.

I understand but how it is calculated now? Because power usage is calculated right now.

If Tasmota is able to calculate the power usage and keep them? How does Tasmota do that? Is there a way to reset theses numbers? I guess it can be possible?

Again as said before ALL power usage is managed by the ARM processor.

Tasmota requests the logging from the ARM at regular intervals (round robin every relay takes up to a few seconds per relay). The logging consists of 6 month daily Energy values (6 month * 30 days = 180 values). The first value is the today energy usage, the second value is yesterday's usage. Total energy is the sum of all 180 values. The logging is a FIFO buffer so after 180 days the oldest value is lost. Logging is under control of the ARM processor.

What Tasmota could do is offset the energy values for every relay for all three energy types resulting in 128 (relays) * 3 (energy types) * 4 (bytes in an uint32_t register) = 1526 bytes needed in flash. Also the command to let the user do this would need to be provided.

Currently not planned.

ethernet works it reads the relay module, but when the spm-main current fails, when it restarts it no longer reads the spm-4relay module and to get it reviewed I have to press the L1 button>, there is a way to do it automatically ?

With a clean power on of ALL 4Relay modules and Main module Tasmota will request a scan of the 4Relay modules and after 20 seconds will provide the results.

With a power cycle of the Main unit only it can sometimes fail the power on sequence. That's what the button on the Main unit is is for

No. Just make sure main and 4relays are not powered off. If they are just power on and all should be well. If not in some circumstances press the button or let a rule run command SspmScan.

Then download the original firmwate as per doc changing the flash size to your need

I need a TLS enabled firmware for SPM. I used to follow the Gitpod toturial for other Sonoff devices that use ESP8266. What settings do I need to specify for compiling ESP32 binary?

Good evening everyone, I am new to these issues but perhaps one of you can give me your support, I have a project of 26 spm-4relays and 1 spm main, the company that hired me can not give me access to the entire wifi network and requests only the URL's or domains with which the spm connects, ie ewelink. I have used Wireshark and I see that my modules connect to ip 224.0.0.251 when I link it to Ewelink. I would like to know how I can get the URL's with which the ewelink app works so that they can give access to the client company.

This not the place to ask about how ewelink works, as the Tasmota project kicks ewelink (or as I like to call it, ew-link) out of devices, to replace it by the alternate firmware not needing to contact any cloud servers on the Internet.

More generally, if you have Wireshark running to see the communication, you have access to see it all, including requests for DNS, http and whatever. I don't know how that protocol works, but it is certainly not a given that everything happens via some URL. You may need to do some learning before you are able to serve a client about how a particular type of devices works on the Internet.

I have two questions:

1. Is it possible to change the auto generated entity IDs* and friendly names for power meter entities to use the friendly name entered to the Tasmota config? Currently only the switches get the names from there. In my opinion it would user friendlier to also map the names to all connected entities.
2. Is it possible that the SPM is not so fast reading current that 20 second long peaks are not recorded?

Normally, Sonoff firmware verifies the MAC of the device it is running on, meaning that firmware from another device may not work. To be clear, I have no specific knowledge if this also applies for the SPM.

I hope this message finds you well. We are currently facing an issue while attempting to flash our SPM Main using an USB adapter. We have successfully connected the RX, TX, 3V, and GND pins to the adapter. Following the connection, we input the following command:

python esptool --port COM3 flash_id

However, we consistently receive an error. It's worth noting that before executing the command, we ensure that GPIO0 is properly connected to GND.

To provide additional context, we want to mention that we have successfully flashed an ESP8266 using the same USB adapter in the past. The current issue seems specific to the SPM Main.

To provide a visual reference, we have attached a few images below illustrating our hardware setup.

We don't have power issue. We mesure 3.3V between GND and 3.3V pin.

The message you already posted clearly says that it is PermissionError. You need to grant yourself access to the serial port, or run as admin.

For easy flashing, I can recommend using https://tasmota.github.io/install/

Anyway, measuring the voltage is not the way to ensure "no power issue", the point is having enough current available.

AFAIK there is no specific acces rights to COM ports on Windows but this error could be raised if the port is in use by another software

looking at your picture it seems you haven't made the shortcut between GPIO0 and GND, the shortcut needs to be made during the whole flashing process not just at the beginning

• Upgrade Tasmota to latest release (v14.2.0)
• Enable more logiing with command SspmDump 1
• Enable more logging with command Weblog 4
• Power on channel 0 and 2 only
• Do a restart and wait 11 minutes while displaying the console.
• Attach the zipped consollog here for me for debugging

I am using CH340G and connected FTDI to device as below:

I powered up the device using AC. GND and GPIO0 has been soldered together.

Hi, the 3 lines above are OK to transfer binary firmware from PC to the ESP32, but the ESP32 need to go in bootloader first. So you need to do an additional operation: "to bring GPIO0 to GND during power-on / or CPU reset".
