This issue can be closed when the following files are uploaded.

  • CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md In this file, provide a main heading (ARFC Code of Conduct). The main body of the file can simply be a link to the ARFC Code Of Conduct . While the md version of this file is present here it's best not to copy and paste the text from the website version, in observance of the DRY principle.
  • CONTRIBUTING.md A CONTRIBUTING file communicates how people should contribute to your project. There are a few examples throughout the org's repos. Some are better than others. Perhaps the default one could be an improvement on this one. In this case, it will be fine to copy and paste. Some guidance can be found here.
  • Issue and pull request templates and config.yml . There are at least a couple of issue and pull request templates in the org which customize and standardize the information you'd like contributors to include when they open issues and pull requests in your repository. For more information, see "About issue and pull request templates.". In the long run, I'd like there to be many types. One, for example, could be an issue template that spurs the assignee to apply the writing checklist to a document.
