POD XT Live with Apple Silicon #56
Comments
Hi, I wondered if this link might help. It mentions "Rosetta a service called a dynamic translator" |
@Davoale Have you had any success with Rosetta? My gut feeling is that it probably doesn't support running Intel Mac drivers and hence won't help you. In theory, it could be possible to take to the USB device directly using libusb. Maybe there could be a generic open-source USB driver written for the old devices. Needs investigating. |
Hi! Thank you for answers. I've tried doing stuff with Rosetta, but it seems it won't help here. |
The more I think about this issue, the more it makes sense to implement this support. This will benefit not only the Apple Silicon users, but also the Windows users in the near future as we see a bigger move away from Intel processors. I've done a POC and I think this at this point, this feature would have the biggest ROI. |
Hi!
Pod-UI is a real lifesaver. Thank you very much!
I didn't find any other way to contact you, but to create an issue.
Sometimes I go back to my guitar hobby, and a couple of months ago I switched to MacBook on Apple Silicon. It was an Intel MacBook before, and it worked perfectly with Pod-UI. I've found out that I can't connect my POD XT Live to my new MacBook – I can install drivers from line6 download center, but my Mac doesn't recognize it. I've spent days to find a way, but it's pointless.
Maybe you could give a hint for those using an ancient Line 6 device with modern Apple Silicon MacBooks on how to make it work together? :) Or this is the end of my POD Xt Live for me...
Thank you!
