The group discussed the upcoming AsyncAPI conferences:
The in-person London conference is in 14 days, and preparations are underway. Tickets are still available.
The online conference will be held on October 30th. The call for proposals is open until September 20th. Speakers are encouraged to submit proposals, especially GSOC mentees.
The Paris online conference CFP is also still open for 2 more weeks. The gr encouraged everyone to submit proposals.
Mentorship Program
Thuli provided an update on the AsyncAPI mentorship program:
Project ideas for the mentorship program are being collected. Participants are encouraged to submit project ideas by the end of September.
The mentorship program is also looking for mentors to participate in the program. Interested parties should review the details.
There are plans to host a live Q&A session on social media to answer questions about the mentorship program, especially around the focus on maintainership this year.
Bounty Program
The AsyncAPI Bounty Q-4 is currently open, with a deadline of September 15th. Thuli encouraged maintainers to submit any issues or projects they don't have time to work on, including non-coding tasks like design and research.
Community Updates
The group discussed a few other community updates:
Lukasz will be representing AsyncAPI at the GSOC mentor conference in early October, and plans to promote the online conference to the GSOC mentors.
The community newsletter is published monthly and provides updates on the latest projects and activities.
New volunteers are welcome to join the conference working group and contribute in various capacities.
