Hello,

After one of the last updates of hyprland/wayland, the wtype tool has started to fail when inserting characters on my web browser (brave).

For example, if I run this in terminal:

wtype -s 1000 Hello

the expected characters are inserted in the terminal, but in the web browser I get "1223"

I've tested it on Arch linux with the following software:

  • wtype (0.4-1)
  • wayland (1.22.0-1)
  • hyprland (0.40.0-1)

Thanks for your help!!

I have a similar problem as well.
If i type U, it would be count as an Enter.
But it works fine with chrome and firefox.
Apparently wtype has some problem with brave (because of xwayland maybe?)
