Second use (11.5.1 -> 11.5.2 -> 11.5.3, on two hosts) of your recipe for VMWareFusion has now ended up in this state:

Haven't figured out why though yet, but thought I'd mention it.

same thing happens with VMwareFusion.pkg.recipe

But the download recipe has a working app

I don't manage or integrate Mac environments anymore. I'm happy to approve a PR, but a solution must come from the community.

@justinrummel we had another customer processor which we were advised to remove in favour of yours!

Would you accept a PR to mark some recipes as deprecated & offer alternatives?

@macmule from you, absolutely!

Seems like the recipe does not run the init script that the software needs (for whatever reason). We use the below postinstall script - works fine for us:

#!/bin/bash

INITTOOL="/Applications/VMware Fusion.app/Contents/Library/Initialize VMware Fusion.tool"

if [[ -x "$INITTOOL" ]]; then
    "$INITTOOL" set
fi
