Welcome to the Autoreduction Wiki!

Autoreduction is a service designed to automatically reduce data produced by ISIS Neutron and Muon source. This service is visible only within the ISIS facility.

Autoreduction is an opt-in service. If you would like to use Autoreduction for your instrument, please contact the development team.

If you have any issues, feature suggestions, or general queries which cannot be answered using the help page, please email: ISISREDUCE@stfc.ac.uk

Accessing Autoreduction

Visit the Autoreduction website. You will be asked for your federal id and password to log in via the user office. Once logged in you can access all of the following via the web interface:

  • View the status of runs
  • Re-submit runs
  • View run variables
  • Find output locations of reduced data

Note: unless you are an administrator, the only jobs visible to you are are those you have the permissions to see. These permission are, for example, set automatically for successful applicants of ISIS experiments. To resolve issues with permissions, please contact the User Office: https://www.isis.stfc.ac.uk/Pages/User-Office.aspx . More specifically, instrument scientists can view jobs associated with their instruments and ISIS users all jobs they are associated with. Furthermore, the autoreduction service assists users+instrument scientists during cycles and its purpose is not to re-reduce data from old cycles. Hence the job list is periodically reset although never during a cycle (the autoreduction service could be extended to do the latter, but that is currently beyond the scope of this service).
