Halo Rob
We tried to export vertex animation from 3ds max 2013 64 bit (German and English) . No sucess.
May be we make something wrong.
Have you any where step by step instructions how can we do that? We want to migrate from 3d flash (holomatix) to away format. Another wersion of 3ds max is no problem (we have all from 2008 to 2014)
You can download file at:

Thank you.

Hey
I tried to download the file from the forum, but had no success (link opens a new tab, but no download starts...).
Maybe you can send me the file to 80prozent@differentdesign.de ?
If you send me your max-file, i can set it up and send back.
Steps to set up VertexAnimation:

  • make sure the object is animated in 3dsmax when playing.
  • apply a "VertexAnimationModifier" to the animated object.
  • inside the VertexAnimationModifier, create a new AnimationClip.
  • export with exporter-option "VertexAnimation" enabled.

in regards of versions: it should work in 2013 the same as in 2014. Most tests are done in 2014, so best use this if you have it available.

Hey
Regarding this issue, I have a problem with exported animations. AnimationClips are not exported properly.
The starting frame of animation is totally random. When a clip starts on frame 30 and ends on frame 60 the 'first frame' can be anything in this range...
Is there a simple fix of this? :)
