Released in Public Preview in November 2021, AWS IoT FleetWise is a managed service that you can use to collect, transform, and transfer vehicle data to the cloud in near-real time.
Description of change:
On August 1, 2022, 5:00 PM PDT, AWS IoT FleetWise updated API model for cloud-side APIs. While there is no change to the functionality of AWS IoT FleetWise, we have updated API models, data structures, and names of the AWS IoT FleetWise Designer, Account Manager, Campaigns, and Registry in line with operational best practices. We have also updated dimensions in the Amazon TimeStream database linked to AWS IoT FleetWise in your AWS account.
You can find more information in the AWS IoT FleetWise documentation.
What do I need to do?
Do the following if you use any of the IoT FleetWise APIs or data types listed previously in automated cloud-side scripts, monitoring dashboards, or other cloud-side applications:
Re-build your applications with the new version of the preview release AWS SDK for IoT FleetWise
Update how you call the IoT FleetWise APIs
Update the data types you pass to and from the IoT FleetWise APIs
Re-register new Amazon Timestream table to receive the vehicle records with vehicle_name as dimension in place of vehicle_id
Update any Amazon Timestream queries you have created to use 'vehicle_name' as your vehicle identifier in place of 'vehicle_id'
If you do not take action: Any cloud side implementations, including your scripts, monitoring dashboards, or cloud side applications that use the AWS IoT FleetWise APIs and/or data types listed previously, will result in a 400 (bad request) response.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the AWS Support team.
